As a world, we’re becoming more and more connected with each other. And with this rise in technology, we’re learning about different foods that have been enhancing people’s lives for thousands of years. Some people call them “healing foods” actually.
Today things are a little more commercialized, so we can easily go to the market to buy most of these extraordinary healing foods. Regardless of where you get them or how you consume them, here’s a list of six extraordinary healing foods that will blow your mind! I’ll even give you tips on how to enjoy them daily!
Cacti are packed with fiber, which helps you feel full longer and improves digestion. They’re loaded with antioxidants that boost your immune system and help prevent cancer, and they also have a good amount of calcium to help strengthen your bones. Obviously, this wasn’t a staple in my diet before moving to Mexico. Today, hardly a day goes by when I don’t eat cactus! You can use the whole moringa plant—leaves, bark, flowers, fruit, seeds, and roots—to make medicine. It’s been used for thyroid disorders, asthma, epilepsy, heart problems, and multiple other health issues. It’s loaded with protein, vitamins, and minerals that help protect your cells from damage. I only recently discovered this little plant here in Cancun. My mother-in-law now grows it and gives it away. It’s an awesome plant! The way I most enjoy it is ground up and mixed in a water bottle with a touch of stevia. It’s a delicious drink on a hot day, very refreshing healing foods and packed with goodness!
