For some reason, a lot of people always ask me "Why I love weight training for women?"

My friends ask me why I like weight training for women.

Past and current students ask me why I like weight training for women.

I even asked myself why I like weight training for women. I asked this question many times when deciding who I wanted to work with most.

And there's one answer that always comes to me:

I LOVE weight training for women because of my mom.


I've always said that mothers are the backbone of families.

She holds everyone together.

No one can solve our problems and heal our pain like our moms can.

And there's nothing worse than seeing that person—who loves you unconditionally and will help you any way she can—struggle with something she can't overcome.

This was my mother's struggle, and most of her friends' struggle too.

I've seen the fad diets, the Richard Simmons VHS tapes, and the yo-yo effect.

I've seen the pain caused by clothes not fitting, doctors delivering bad news, and self-confidence dropping.

I hated seeing all this growing up. Those memories and mental images still hurt today.

I want to solve this problem. That's why I love working with women.

I want to help women avoid this pain, help them avoid bad habits and traits they don’t want to pass on to their children, to give them the tools they need to take back their lives, self-love, and motivation.

And what better gifts would you want to give someone than strength and confidence?

Like Tupac said:

“And since we all came from a woman,
Got our name from a woman and our game from a woman,
I wonder why we take from our women. [...]
I think it's time to kill for our women,
time to heal our women, be real to our women.”


Remember, mothers are our backbones, our foundations, the ones who support us fully. We need them. They're everything to our families.

And if there's one thing I learned from my mom, it's that “if Momma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy!”
